Get to know Nia Scott, Your Marketing Expert!

Since we are kinda strangers, I wanted to introduce myself a little bit more...

If you’ve been following me, then you are very familiar with who I am and most of my values but if you don’t, I want to tell you a few naked truths that you may not have known about me.

  • I was born in Charleston, SC & raised in Harlem, NY. So… I’m basically from Harlem. Even though my fellow New Yorkers will try to remove my ‘MetroCard’ for being born in SC. My “yerrrr” hits harder than the naysayers on any day. 😂

  • I grew up in a single parent household. My father spent a lot of my childhood incarcerated.

  • I watched my mother struggle to juggle parenting, working & school.

  • I dropped out of Howard University after having my daughter in 2011.

  •  My mother “kidnapped” me & my daughter & relocated us to Charleston, SC (long story but I will save that for another day).
  • I went to an Art school & worked for a cellphone company to pass time until I could save enough money to get back to NYC but instead, met my son’s father who was controlling, abusive & manipulative. Ignoring the signs, & staying stuck in that cycle, I decided to move to ATL & bring him along. (to where I’ve always wanted to live).

  • His drug and alcohol addiction caused us to get evicted from not 1 but 2 apartments, and get both of our cars repossessed. (This was my ROCK BOTTOM year - 2016)

  • It took for me to be choked almost lifeless with my infant in the room to finally escape him.

  • I started a business in Art, teaching Canvas Painting classes using a simple free Canva flyer to get pre-sales to my event & then using that money to fully launch.

Despite all of those things, with hard work and dedication, there was a light at the end of the tunnel. I met my husband at one of my paint parties and we began to build together from that day forth.

Building multiple streams of income & making our first million in 2021 all during a Pandemic!

Some questions I get often:

1. How did you find your passion after experiencing ALL of that?

2. How do I get started and find out what I'm actually good at?

3. When is the right time to Introduce my business to the world?

4. How do I get money to market my business, when I'm barely making ends meet?

To answer both 1 and 2, I found my passion after going back to "my roots". Art was always home for me. It took me places that no regular job could every take me, mentally. I felt happy, free and at peace. Through my love for art, I wanted to bring people along for the ride. I was fully booked multiple times a week & have sold out events the minute they went live. The demand was so colossal, that I needed to offer in-home paint kits because I couldn't be all around the US at once. But the most incredible thing about my live events was the network that I've built. I've built partnerships with businesses like Bedroom Kandi, that offered products that complemented my paint parties so well, that it inspired me to create my own (Faire L'amour).

So, how would you find out what you're good at? I say all of this to say, always go back to your roots. It won't steer you wrong. the very thing that gives you that feeling that I described above Is what you're good at & you should build your business from that.

I got started with a negative bank account & a free Canva flyer. I had nothing, but my knowledge, skill and drive! I had no clue how I was going to get thousands of people to see me but I knew I had to.

I KNEW that I wasn't placed on this Earth to be broke and damaged. I trusted that God & took a leap of faith. Since we all know that Faith without work is dead... I put the foot to pavement. I took my pride out of it & messaged people directly to purchase tickets or to donate. Every millionaire that I came in contact with became intimidated & would watch my every move but offered little to no help even when I tried to pay for coaching. I was hurt, but I kept going.. vowing to be the complete opposite. Now that I'm on... I'm bringing everyone who's as hungry as I was with me. I CONSISTENTLY showed up for myself and for my business making NO EXCUSES!

Again, you DON'T need money to Market your business! Use what you have. I started with a negative bank account & access to my free Canva app. No computer? Your public library has one! I will have an answer for everything and if you are ready to do the work, then welcome to the family! I'm your new bosstie (Boss Bestie). & your my new RICH Bff... I'm claiming it NOW!! lol
